So Camilla is now 6 months old and I can not believe how big she is! 14 lbs 2 oz and 25.5 inches long. I am getting low back pain from holding her! She can really roll around and pivot on her stomach. I like to put things just out of her reach and watch her maneuver to get the object. (sound a little cruel but the pediatrician said it is good for her problem solving skills)
Also, the other day I saw her using her thumb and index finger trying to pick up a piece of lent off the floor. This I have come to understand to be the "pincer grasp" which babies tend to master between 7-11 months. ( I new she was smart!)
Something we need to work on though is "sleep training". Right now the only way to get her to sleep is to nurse her. I need to start putting her down in her crib drowsy. (according to the "experts" and the pediatrician) But it is so hard listening to her cry!
As far as hair, she is still pretty much bald. She had more hair at birth, or maybe her head has just gotten bigger. Although she does have one strand of hair I swear is 4 inches long!
At about 5 months I started giving her "real" food. So far she has had bananas, peas, broccoli, yogurt(soy) apples and rice cereal. The look on her face when I gave her the broccoli was priceless!
We are having lots of fun with for sure!

head cold
So Camilla has her second head cold. Her temperament is fine, which is good. But she is so congested! I have suctioned her nose dozens of times, especially before nursing so she can breathe. Probably contracted it from daycare, which makes me feel bad. I guess it could be worse(H1N1)! I have also contracted her cold, but I figure it is a good thing because my body can make antibodies and pass them to her in the breast milk.
Of course babies can't take medicine for symptom relief(nor can nursing moms). So we have the humidifier going and I am going to ask the pediatrician about saline drops( saw Little remedies add in Parenting magazine)

4 months old
Camilla is 4 months old today! I can't believe how big she is.
We still have her sleeping in our room. I think we are finding reasons to keep her right next to us. Tonight is the night( so I have said for 2 weeks now!). If we don't transition her soon she might still be in our room when she is 10! I really don't want that, I want her to be independent. So tonight is the night...? Yes, I swear!
Bumper or no bumper is my concern right now. Supposedly a SIDS risk? I have worried myself sick about SIDS(and H1N1).Sometimes I wonder how the human race continues with all the viruses and bacteria out there. But really I have too much all ready to think/worry about!
Thanksgiving day was very nice. So good to finally introduce my family to Camilla(my fear of H1N1 has kept us isolated). I hope everyone understands and appreciates my concern for Camilla's well being.

Week 16 - starting daycare
Camilla is getting so strong, holding her head up and grabbing at things. It is amazing how much she has grown in just 16 weeks.
She is trying to put things in her mouth, so we will have to be very careful!
She pulls on my hair now as I carry her around.
I started work back this week which means Camilla started daycare. It was so hard leaving her. I thought about her every minute until I picked her back up.
I think she is adjusting well to the sitter. She seem to like her and she likes watching the other kids. At first she cried but now she watches them in amazement. I guess she doesn't let one of the sitter's daughters hold her. The sitter has 2 daughters that help her and Camilla just won't let one of them hold her! I don't know?
She is so chubby! Her little thighs are huge!
We plan to transition her to her crib this weekend, it will probably be hardest on me!

week 15
Camilla is sleeping very well at night, going to sleep by 10 pm and getting up around 5:30 am to eat, then going back to sleep until about 9am.
Still talking a lot. It is so cute how she looks right at me and talks as if I can understand her perfectly.
At night she sits with Paul and watches ESPN. So cute, maybe she will be as much of a Notre Dame fan as he is.

week 14
A lot of the same from last week, although she seems to have found her voice. She "talks" all the time, clearly take after her Aunt Angie. She also is using her lungs quit well to yell! Yes, she can be very loud! It is pretty funny.
Her fingers are always in her mouth and she gags herself all the time!
Taking walks in the stroller in the afternoon, because it is a little chilly now in the mornings.
Loving our time together!

Week 13
During tummy time she rolled over to her back! She was so surprised!
She did it twice!
So athletic!
She is also sleeping 9 to 10 hours at night! I feel human again!:)
Napping in her crib during the day usually no more than about 30 minutes at a time.
She is starting to suck on just a finger at a time, easier I guess then the whole fist!
